Letter: Voting again for Mike Matson as mayor of Davenport

Thank you Barb! I would be honored to receive everyone’s vote for Mayor.

Just like two years ago I am voting to re-elect Mike Matson for mayor of Davenport. Here are some of his accomplishments. Record job creation with over 4,000 in last few years, not counting Amazon. Over 400 new business licenses with 75 in the downtown. Group violence incidents down 76% in the last year. Shootings down over 40%. Increased law enforcement staff in Davenport at Judicial District. Credit rating upgrade for first time in decades, saving taxpayers millions in interest. No city tax increase! Balanced budget and many awards for city financial planning and budgeting.

Mike has great relationships with our county, state, and federal partners. Chairman of many State and Bi State boards and commissions. Mike works diligently and has brought millions of state and federal dollars to Davenport the last few years. Impressive as a member of the U.S. Trade representative intergovernmental policy advisory board!
